Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Remark Humorous

What could be so humorous when you got 30 Federal charges against you for killing 3 innocent people and injured more than 260. "That is totally insane and monstrous!" Lawyers for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev say a remark he made to his sister during a prison visit was meant to be funny and wasn't incriminating, as prosecutors have suggested.  In court documents filed Wednesday, Tsarnaev's lawyers responded to a claim by prosecutors that Tsarnaev made a remark "to his detriment" while his sister was visiting him. The remark was overheard by an FBI agent who was in the room monitoring the visit because of special prison restrictions placed on Tsarnaev.  Neither side has revealed what Tsarnaev said, but are arguing over whether to lift the monitoring restrictions that his lawyers say limit his interactions with people helping his defense team.

Dzhokhar's lawyers say the comment was "jocular" or "gently mocking" the purported security concerns that prompted the prison restrictions, known as "special administrative measures." They say he has not made any statements related to the charges against him during visits with his sisters.  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev faces the possibility of the death penalty in the deadly bombing last April. Prosecutors allege that Tsarnaev, 20, and his brother, Tamerlan, 26, built two pressure-cooker bombs and placed them near the finish line of the marathon. The twin explosions killed three people and injured more than 260.  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges. Tamerlan Tsarnaev died following a shootout with police several days after the marathon.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's lawyers say that prosecutors' reference to Tsarnaev's allegedly damaging remark "has unleashed a wave of unwarranted and prejudicial public speculation" about the comment.  They called the prosecution's claim a "red herring."

"Apparently, if Mr. Tsarnaev appears to be lighthearted in interactions with his sisters, this will be spun into an argument that he should be executed because he lacks remorse and is insufficiently serious about his predicament or his actions. On the other hand, if Mr. Tsarnaev appears impassive or subdued, those observations also likely will be characterized as evidence that Mr. Tsarnaev is cold-hearted and more deserving of the death penalty," Tsarnaev's lawyers said in their response to the government's filing.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz declined to comment. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's trial is scheduled to begin November 3.

I don't think I can call this guy "Mr." because in my eye sight, he is a cold hearted monster who has no remorse for human life.  Innocent people who didn't deserve what happened to them. "Families completely destroyed for life with memories of their loved ones and horrors they suffered.  Only time will tell November 3.

  1. This guy has no remorse for society or what he did back in 2013. Death is his fate! And then life - I don't know.

As Always, Open Discussion

If anyone out there in cyberspace - who followed and know the complete history (from 'almost' day one) of Jon and Kate Gosselin -- this blog is for those who want to discuss and show their support for Jon (even if everyone thinks he is a "douche-bag" he's still the father of the Gosselin 8. Jon has made mistakes in his past. He has apologized for those mistakes and to everyone through the media and to Kate - even if she wouldn't let him apologize to her face to face, Jon has apologized to Kate (more than I can say for Kate, "She has not apologized to Jon or the public yet.") No matter what you think of Jon, I support him as a person and the father of the Gosselin 8 and for all he's been through, especially with his 10 year marriage to Kate Gosselin. If you're not a supporter of Jon, that is your decision, do not attack any of my posters or me (T) on this blog or demand anything from my posters or me (T) that justifies our support for Jon. If any attacks or demands are made against my posters or me (T), you will be deleted from this blog. It is our right to support Jon and our freedom to express our opinions about Jon. If you don't like it -- that's too bad!
